Jasmine green tea has a tendency to go bitter if you let it over-steep, even a little.
And let me tell you, we let this one over-steep.
The Majestic Tea Bar man said “This needs to steep just one more minute,” as he dropped the pot off at our table. “Is that ok?”
Yes it is ok, my good Majestic Tea man. I have been telling time since I was a small child. I have known the risks associated with oversteeping a jasmine green tea. I have been bittered before. I can be trusted with this pot.
Reader, I could not be trusted.
But after I swore and interrupted my client’s diatribe to pour two cups, it was in fact ok. Majestic Jasmine Jewel green tea is not bitter, even when over-steeped.
